About
This studio is built around clear structure, strong fundamentals, and long‑term musical development.
About Konstantine Karatenislis
I am a professional clarinetist and Clarinetist with the Royal Australian Navy Band.
In that environment, preparation, discipline, and clarity are non‑negotiable. Performances demand consistency under pressure, absolute reliability, and a deep understanding of fundamentals.
That same professional standard shapes how I teach.
A professional performance mindset
Professional performance depends on systems — not shortcuts.
Clear preparation strategies
Reliable technical foundations
Consistency under pressure
This perspective allows me to guide students with clarity and purpose, helping them understand not just what to practise, but why each element matters.
Teaching philosophy
Strong fundamentals create freedom.
I do not rush students through grades or repertoire without the necessary understanding in place. Students move forward only when previous material is clearly understood and technically secure.
While progress may appear slower in the early stages, this approach leads to faster, more reliable improvement later — and a much higher long‑term standard.
What students gain
Clarity around how to practise effectively
A strong, controlled, and consistent sound
Improved technical ease and coordination
Confidence in performance and preparation
Most importantly, students develop independence — the ability to solve problems, refine their playing, and continue improving beyond the lesson.
Long-term vision
My goal is to develop high‑standard clarinetists with a great attitude — musicians who are thoughtful, disciplined, and confident in their preparation.
Over time, this studio aims to be known for producing clarinetists who not only play at a high level, but approach their musical work with maturity, curiosity, and professionalism.
If this approach aligns with how you want to develop on the clarinet, lessons are offered on a limited, term‑based basis.
