Who this is for

This studio is for committed clarinet students who want meaningful, long‑term progress — not rushed results.

  • Advanced high school students

  • University and pre-professional students

  • Younger students (ages 7–12) are also welcomed where strong fundamentals, healthy technique, and consistent practice habits are prioritised from the beginning

The problem

  • Practising consistently but not improving fast enough

  • Not knowing what to practise or why

  • Inconsistent sound and technique

  • Feeling unprepared or tense under performance pressure

Many students practise regularly but feel their progress is slow, unclear, or unreliable.

The issue is rarely effort. It’s usually lack of structure.

The Method

All students are trained through a clear, professional framework:

Diagnose → Structure → Fundamentals → Perform

Diagnose

We identify what is actually limiting progress.

Structure

Each student receives a clear weekly practice system — what to practise, how to practise, and why it matters.

Fundamentals

Tone, breath, embouchure, articulation, fingers, and coordination are built properly and in the correct order.

Perform

Preparation becomes reliable, so sound and technique hold up under pressure.

Results/Progression

What changes over 6-12 months

  • Clear, efficient practice habits

  • A more reliable, controlled sound

  • Improved technical ease and coordination

  • Progress of approximately 2–4 AMEB grades

  • Confidence preparing for exams, auditions, and performances

Most importantly, students gain independence — they understand how to improve on their own.

Why this is different

As a Clarinetist with the Royal Australian Navy Band, preparation is not optional — it is the standard.

  • Clear systems

  • Disciplined preparation

  • Consistency under pressure

That same environment shapes how students are trained here: no rushing, no guesswork, no random fixes — just structured development that produces reliable results.

In-person & Online Lessons

  • In person in Sydney

  • Online (Zoom) for students Australia‑wide

Both formats follow the same structured, professional approach and expectations.

Online (Zoom) Lessons

  1. Practice structure

  2. Technical development

  3. Sound and articulation work

Zoom is treated as a professional teaching format, not a fallback.

Simple Zoom Setup

  • Online lessons are conducted using a desktop or laptop computer only to maintain appropriate audio quality.

  • Mobile devices (phones or tablets) are not suitable, as they do not allow the necessary audio settings for high‑quality music instruction.

  • Using a compatible external microphone can further improve sound clarity, particularly for tone and articulation work.

  • A stable internet connection and music stand are required. Setup guidance is provided in the first lesson.

What students and families say

“Rayson had around six months of clarinet lessons at school before starting lessons in October 2024. Since then, we’ve seen a significant improvement in his playing, confidence, and overall musicianship. Constantine has helped him build strong foundations and a much clearer understanding of his playing, and the results have been excellent. He was recently selected for a top state band on clarinet.”

—Rayson’s mum

“Before starting lessons, my experience with the clarinet was limited to high school and I had only a basic understanding of the instrument. From the first lesson, Constantine identified my habits and helped rebuild my playing on a stronger foundation. Over time, my confidence increased and I developed a clearer understanding of how to manage tone and consistency while playing. He encourages learning from mistakes and adapts his teaching to each student’s pace.”
